3D Printing and Suppling Face Shields - Information
On this page you will find general information, updates and assembly instructions.
We have been monitoring the dramatic events unfold worldwide due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Businesses shutdown, people being forced into lockdown and worst of all people are getting seriously and fatally sick.
As of the 30th of March, the cases in Australia are doubling every 3-4 days. (Source: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-17/coronavirus-cases-data-reveals-how-covid-19-spreads-in-australia/12060704)
This rapid growth of infections is scary and adding dramatic pressure on our healthcare system and public services.
Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that these services are facing mass shortages on basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, face masks, face shields and more.
One of our suppliers Prusa Research, based in the Czech Republic have created an open source design of a 3D printed Face Shield. The design is open source to everyone and Prusa Research themselves have donated over 12,000 Face shields.
Prusa Research is now reaching out to all of their customers (and everyone with a 3D printer for that matter), to offer their services to anyone in need.
Here at Allentronics we would like to offer our 3D Printing Services to any business, public service or hospital that is currently facing a shortage of face shields. Our current production capacity allows us to print up to 18 shields in 24 hours. We would be prepared to 3D Print the plastic parts and supply an individual bag/pack that include all of the necessary parts to assemble the face shield.
We understand that we will need to adapt and optimise our production process to follow strict quality control and sanitation processes and we will be happy to communicate and work with professionals if need be.

Our face shields are produced using our high quality Prusa i3 MK3S 3D Printers. The frames are printed in a material called Polyethylene terephthalate (PETG). These frames take approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Our current production capacity allows us to produce up to 18 shields per day, however this can be increased if required.
These Face shields are provided either as a kit or as an assembled shield upon request.
Each kit will include the following:
The Laser cut plastic shield is replaceable and upon request can be supplied separately. This will allow you to re-use the frame multiple times while only having to replace the front shield.
Each kit will include the following:
- 1x 30CM Elastic Head Band (with holes for adjusting size),
- 1x 3D Printed PETG Frame and 3D Printed PETG Base,
- 1x 0.5mm thick Laser Cut Plastic Shield (Replaceable).
The Laser cut plastic shield is replaceable and upon request can be supplied separately. This will allow you to re-use the frame multiple times while only having to replace the front shield.
The Face Shields will be sold for $15.00/assembled which includes 1 front shield (excluding shipping)

Please note: Depending on your local area restrictions, a 'face shield' may not be a suitable replacement for a 'face mask'.
Please consult with your local governments information regarding the definition of a suitable 'face covering'.
